Bringing Kali Linux with you on your adventures is not anything new. Root your phone , install Kali , connect your wireless adapter via your otg cable and voila! But sometimes rooting your phone is out of the question , and , depending on your phone , if it's older you may not have access to all of the tools in Kali. And not all times is a Laptop a good idea.

If you're talking about hooking up the actual screen to the pi, that's a little out of scope for a self-identified noob. EDIT: This teardown shows that the Nexus 7 uses a Hydis HV070WX2 LCD display with the Corning glass fused to the screen. It was just about working but it was not exactly smooth. I also used the below vnc app to log into the pi on my Nexus 7 and was able to view and control the pi desktop as if it were loaded up on the Nexus. A lot easier than trying to hack the tablet into a screen and you obviously keep the original functionality of the tablet itself.
